Makes sense now. But in his case it changed, so that wouldn't be it. What I suspect is the crappy Nady bit the dust.

I grade Nady stuff as BU (barely usable).

Watch FeePay. you can get the little Altec EQ with short faders for 50 bucks. At that price forget about Chinese stuff,

My brother has one I can probably talk him into giving up if you can't find one. Know he hasn't been using it. He isn't as bad a packrat as I, but close.
